After GQ voted Boulder the 40th worst-dressed city in America, CUI decided to take to the streets in search of higher standards. Our criteria are: no clothing by North Face or Patagonia and no fanny packs (all fashion crimes that Boulderites commit, according to GQ). Check in with us weekly for style icons found on our own campus.
Name: Cameron Stone
Age: 21
Major: Civil engineering
Occupation: Best Buy employee
Hometown: Parker, Colorado
Favorite getting-ready song: ”Born This Way” by Lady Gaga
Cameron brightens up the College of Engineering with his unique take on basics. When going to class, Cameron sports something comfortable yet form-flattering, much like his style icon Zac Efron.
Like most CU Buffs, Cameron works and parties equally hard. Thursday nights at Tracks, one of Cameron’s favorite GLBT nightclubs in Denver, call for something more extravagant. He decides on a theme of gold and silver – the perfect attention grabber for a night out.
“After coming out two years ago, I decided never to hide the real me,” Stone said. “I like to think of myself as a gay engineer ambassador. Engineers have more style than you think.”
