Police are looking for a potential suspect after an armed robbery occurred on The Hill this morning.
According to a news release, Boulder Police have arrested 21-year-old Elijah Belizare Daniel Bravo, a suspect who allegedly attempted to rob a male victim at gunpoint.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. near 10th and Pleasant streets. According to the victim, Bravo, with a female, came up to the victim asking for a cigarette. The suspect then pulled out a gun and demanded money.
Kim Kobel, spokesperson for Boulder Police, said that the suspects fled from the scene on foot.
“The initial aggravated robbery took place some time around 2 a.m.,” Kobel said. “The initial victim was confronted after he gave the suspect a cigarette and when the victim was not able to give any money because he didn’t have any, the suspect and the female left the area on foot.”
The victim called the police and the police picked up Bravo at University and 10th, but not the female.
Kobel said that the police believe the suspect may have gotten into some kind of altercation with a group of young men who were in the area about 10 or 15 minutes after the altercation with the first victim. Bravo may have confronted them with a gun and he, the initial victim, overheard a group of men saying that they had beat up someone who pulled a gun on them.
“We think that this is all related and we would like to talk to those men,” Kobel said. “We would really like to talk to them about what happened, what they saw and what they experienced. We believe that the suspect may have pulled a gun on them as well.”
Kobel said that police were able to arrest Bravo close to the scene of altercation after a description of Bravo was aired over police radio.
“Shortly after it was aired over radio, an officer in the area saw somebody matching the description an that turned out to be Bravo and he was arrested very early this morning right after this happened,” Kobel said. “But we’re still looking for the woman.”
Bravo faces charges of Aggravated Robbery and Felony Menacing. The female is suspected to be Sierra Rose Garcia, and is described as 5-foot-4-inches, 108 lbs, with reddish-blonde hair. She may have a piercing on her bottom lip.
