CU student Galen Bercaw is now facing charges for a suspected assault.
This past weekend Bercaw, 23-year-old music student, was arrested and accused of attacking two women early Sunday morning on the Hill.
Bercaw’s first hearing was Wednesday morning, and according to Catherine Olguin, spokesperson for the Boulder DA, he did receive charges.
“[Bercaw] was charged with two counts of assault two, class four felonies,” Olguin said. “Also two counts of attempted robbery, class five felony, and a class five felony, assault two on a peace officer.”
If sentenced, Olguin said that the class four felonies could mean 2-4 years of jail time, and the class five felonies bring 1-3 years.
According to Olguin, Bercaw’s preliminary hearing will be April 28 at 9 a.m.
