Junior forward Trey Eckloff and senior guard Levi Knutson were both named to the 2011 Academic All-Big 12 Men’s Basketball First Team, league officials announced Thursday.�The honor was Eckloff’s second straight, and Knutson’s third straight.
Members of the first team must have a 3.20 plus grade point average in order to qualify.
The University of Texas led the Big 12 with four selections, while Colorado was runner up.
The men’s basketball academic all-league squad had 12 members on the first team.�Four players were on the second team, qualifying with GPA�s between 3.00 and 3.19.
Players must maintain a 3.00 GPA for two semesters and have played in at least 60 percent of their team�s games in order to qualify for the honor.�Freshman and transfer students are not eligible in their first year.
