One down, one to go for CU Buffs.
After two rounds Monday in the Alister Mackenzie Invitational in Fairfax, Calif., Colorado men’s golf sits in 15th place. This is their final tournament of the season.
Hosts, No. 10 California, lead the tournament overall with a two round score of 528. Number 15 San Diego State sits in a distant second, 10 strokes behind California. Colorado finished the day with a 6-over 568.
Junior Kevin Kring led the Buffs, shooting a 67 first round, a 73 second round, and is in 26th. Kring finished with eight birdies 22 pars and six bogeys. He is now tied for the national lead of fewest triple bogeys or worse after 198 holes.
CU junior Sebastian Heisele is tied for 39th, shooting even-par on the day. Heisele was one of the 21 players out of 80 total to shoot all-par 4-holes under-par. He shot 1-under on these holes.
CU senior Luke Symons and redshirt freshman Brennan Dolan tied for 62nd with scores of 146. Symons scored two rounds of 73, scoring 7 birdies on the day. Dolan went 74-72, and made one eagle and six pars.
CU sophomore Derek Fribbs sits one stroke behind Symons and Dolan at 147. Fribbs is in 68th after Monday.
Colorado finishes the tournament tomorrow. The first groups tee-off at 8:45 a.m.
