Friday’s loss is only the second time Colorado has lost in Lubbock since the 1996 season.
Texas Tech took the lead in the seventh minute. Red Raider freshman midfielder Jessica Disabella put a corner kick in the box, and junior defender Casey McCall latched on to it, heading the ball past Colorado’s freshman goalkeeper Annie Brunner. The goal was only the second goal Brunner has allowed in three Big 12 Games.
Texas Tech had come out more determined after their loss to No. 12 Oklahoma State. The Red Raiders out shot Colorado 7-5 in the first half.
Tech’s defense remained strong throughout the game, and held the Buffs scoreless through 90 minutes.
Colorado now looks to pick things back up against Baylor. The Buffs will take on the Bears in Waco, Texas, with kick off at noon.
