According to a CU news release, the CU Police Department is currently investigating a report of an assault that occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday morning in the vicinity of Kittredge Field.
CUPD says it is seeking tips to help identify the suspect.
According to the news release, a female reported that she was walking home when an unknown male grabbed her from behind and tackled her. While on the ground, the male tried to cover her mouth with his hands, at which time she bit one of the suspect’s fingers. The male got up and ran from the scene. The female individual stood up and ran from the scene in the opposite direction. Two people in the vicinity came by the location and took her across the street to call the police.
The female involved sustained only minor injuries from the incident.
The suspect is described as male, about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build, dark hair and no glasses. The case remains under investigation.
Late Sunday night a news alert e-memo was sent out to all CU-Boulder students from the CU police department advising them of the attack and encouraging them to use caution.
