The final day at the Big 12 Championships was not kind to the Colorado Buffaloes men’s golf team.
CU dropped two spots on Sunday where they finished ninth overall at the conference tournament in Trinity, Texas.
Oklahoma State won the tournament while Texas A&M, Texas, Texas Tech and Kansas State rounded out the top five.
Sophomore Sebastian Heisele was the highest placed CU golfer tying for 19th. Other Buffs who competed at the Big 12’s included freshman Jason Burstyn who finished tied for 30th, freshman Derek Fribbs who tied for 36th, senior Justin Bardgett who tied for 43rd and sophomore Kevin Kring who finished 57th.
Charles Ward of Texas Tech won the overall individual title.
The Buffs’ season is now over as they needed to win the conference tournament to play in the postseason, but Bardgett still has a chance to qualify as an individual for the NCAA Championships. He’ll find out if he qualifies in May.
