Colorado Buffaloes football player Cha’pelle Brown now has a nice parting gift for his farewell.
Brown, a senior cornerback, was named the Big 12 Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week in a press release Monday after recording 11 tackles and a sack in CU’s 28-20 loss to Nebraska on Friday.
On Sunday, Brown was selected by his teammates as the Buffs’ 2009 Most Valuable Player. He finished the season with a team-high 96 tackles while playing all 804 defensive snaps from scrimmage.
Brown ended his CU career with 256 tackles, which is seventh all-time among defensive backs in school history.
This is the second time Brown has received the conference’s DPOW. He received the honor last season when he returned an interception 27 yards for a touchdown in CU’s 31-24 come from behind win over Eastern Washington.
