On the decline? Buff’s Roby sees numbers continue to fall

Confidence is something that can make or break a player in college basketball. With it, a player can be a strong leader on the court, pushing his teammates to be better. Without it, a player can struggle in areas where he was once magnificent.

This season has been rough for the CU men’s basketball team.

Men’s hockey team knows how to win

Coach Jeff Eaton knows ice hockey. He could also tell you a few things about winning.

After all, the head coach of the CU men’s Division II hockey team has led his Buffs to a 19-2-4 record and a No. 1 ranking in the West Region of the American College Hockey Association.

The weight of the world

The 2006-2007 CU women’s basketball team is already way ahead of last year’s schedule. With one more win this season, the Buffs will match their overall and Big 12 win totals from last season.

A big part of the team’s improvement can be credited to 6-foot-3-inch forward Jackie McFarland.

Ilic’s 29 points not enough for win

Senior Jasmina Ilic’s game high 29 points were not enough to push the CU women’s basketball team past the No. 7 Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night. The Buffs fell 82-67 and are now 8-9 overall.

“I thought it was a great challenge for us tonight. I’m very proud of the team,” Head Coach Kathy McConnell-Miller said.

Shoulder to … uhhhh

It’s no secret that the CU men’s basketball team has had little student and fan support this season – on Wednesday, only 3,123fans showed up to watch Buffs get their first Big 12 Conference win.

After 10 home games, the Buffs’ average home attendance per game this season is 2,851.

Big Red blowout – CU’s 13-point first half leads to 71-50 defeat at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska opened up a 10-0 lead to start the game and never let Colorado get closer than eight points thereafter on the way to a 71-50 win Saturday.

Lady Buffs enter spring tennis season with high hopes

The University of Colorado women’s tennis team has been practicing hard in anticipation for the upcoming season. They are ranked No. 56 in the nation heading into their spring matches, and head coach Nicole Kenneally has plenty of goals in mind for her team.

Sports, life lessons and coaches

Most of us as kids played a sport at one time or another. Whether it was soccer in the fall or baseball in the spring, we all know what it is like to participate in some sort of athletic competition.

For me, sports had always been a getaway from the daily responsibilities life threw at me.

Serbian Jasmina Ilic sparks CU’s women’s basketball offense

Born in Becej, Serbia, the 6-foot-1-inch senior Jasmina Ilic has sparked the CU women’s basketball team’s offense this season.

She is averaging 12.7 points per game and has a team-high free throw percentage of 87.7 percent. The team has an overall record of 8-7, but after beating Missouri in its first Big 12 Conference game and Iowa State in its second, the team is playing well at an important time since slump earlier in the season.

Buffs beat Cyclones to snag first conference win

The CU men’s basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak on Wednesday night, beating the Iowa State Cyclones 74-65.

The victory marked the Buffs’ first win in the Big 12 Conference this season. CU avoided wins early in the conference, going 0-4 in their first four Big 12 games.
