CU student arrested after entering movie theater dressed as the Joker

A part-time CU student has been arrested after entering a movie theater wearing a clown hat and a Joker mask.

The 17-year-old suspect was taken to juvenile detention after moviegoers at Century Boulder Theater in the 29th Street Mall told police that “they feared for their safety,” according to a City of Boulder news release.

He has been charged with five counts of misdemeanor Menacing. There were no weapons present and no injuries. According to the release, “He was aware of the theater shooting that had occurred in Aurora.”
