MONDAY
Free Advanced Screening of “The Muppets”
Program Council is hosting a free advanced screening of “The Muppets.” Come reminisce about your childhood and see if Miss Piggy and Kermit have changed since you were a kid. Movie begins at 7:30 p.m. in CHEM 140.
Jazz Ensembles concert
Check out the University Jazz Ensembles in a concert directed by Daniel Jonas, Joanna Sabater and Brad Goode. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. at Grusin Music Hall in Imig Music. This event is free and open to the public.
TUESDAY
MEBTour @ Club 156
Program Council and MindEqualsBlown.net present the first annual MEBTour. The up-and-coming talent of Happy Body Slow Brain, Culprit the Paper Melody and Vandelay Industries will perform in Club 156. The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $8 presale and $10 at the door. Visit the Program Council website to purchase tickets and get a sample of the music.
Fringe Festival Arts Mixer
Are you an artist, musician, dancer, thespian or filmmaker? Then go to the Fringe Festival Arts Mixer to meet other artists like yourself and learn more about getting your work showcased in CU’s annual Fringe Festival. The mixer begins at 5 p.m. in the acting studio of the University Theater. This event is open to students and faculty. Plus, there’s free food.
WEDNESDAY
“The Precipice” film screening
Go see “The Precipice” at the International Film Series this week. The film, set against the backdrop of the Japanese Alps, explores the relationship among two mountain climbers and their common love interest. The film begins at 7 p.m. in Muenzinger Auditorium and it’s free.
Karaoke @ Catacombs
Break out those singing skills you normally reserve for the shower at Catacombs’ Karaoke Night. Once you down a few of the drink specials, they won’t be able to get you off the stage. Karaoke begins at 10 p.m. at Catacombs Bar.
THURSDAY
University Symphony Orchestra
Listen to the University Symphony Orchestra and special guest, Emily Martin, an Honors Competition winner, play the music of Schubert, Stauss and Mussorgsky. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium and is free and open to the public.
Ladies’ Night @ Absinthe House
Get your drink and dance on with the CU Independent at the Absinthe House. Women drink free from 9 p.m. to midnight!
FRIDAY
Learn to Tango
Impress your friends and that cute girl in your class by joining CU Club Tango. Come to the downstairs of Carlson gym every Friday night for a free Tango lesson and an open dance. Beginners are welcome and no partner is required. Lesson begins at 7 p.m.
SATURDAY
Last day at the Boulder Farmer’s Market
Stock up on all those fresh and local goodies because this is the last weekend the Farmer’s Market is open until next spring. The market is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 13th Street between Canyon and Arapahoe.
Rockers Rumble 6
The CU Breaking Club presents the sixth annual Rockers Rumble. The event promotes hip-hop with a mix of break dancing, hip-hop choreography, DJs, MCs and guest speakers. Festivities last from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom.
Switch on the Holidays
Join the City of Boulder as they illuminate the courthouse, Pearl Street and the star on Flagstaff Mountain with festive holiday lights. The event begins at 5 p.m. at the Boulder courthouse.
